Life Skills Programme
The service provided focuses on the professions of counselling and conflict resolution/mediation. It also offers a personal development programme which has been informed by challenges being experienced by young people in Ireland today. It covers the following aspects:

Information about the counselling profession
Learn about basic counselling skills – listening, reflecting, summarizing, empathy, non-judgement, building positive and trusting relationships, empowerment
Practical exercises for students to try out skills learned
Learn about managing difficulties and challenges in their own lives

Information about the conflict resolution profession
Learn about basic conflict resolution skills – listening, reflecting, re-framing, exploring options and solutions, building productive relationships
Practical exercises for students to try out skills learned
Learn about managing conflict in their own lives

Information about personal management
Personal awareness, development and management is about getting to know oneself better in order to reach one’s fullest potential. The model used for personal awareness and development explores 8 different aspects of each person. It works through each aspect in depth to help you in discovering what is right for you and how to build a life for yourself based on this. Tools and resources are offered which you can apply to yourself and your life, aiding with self-management.
