Fota Wildlife Park’s award winning education department offers a variety of modules to secondary school students! While the team-building option is a fun day out (with a focus on improving co-operation and communication skills amongst peers), there is an educational element to all of the activities on offer – ensuring that every student leaves with additional knowledge.

Our award winning practical field ecology courses provide participating students with the knowledge and practical skills required to both junior and leaving certificate standard! Fota’s Practical Field Ecology course for both Junior and Leaving Cert students remains one the most popular options available to schools at secondary level. The course covers both the theoretical and practical field aspects of the ecology syllabus and also allows students time to explore the park once the woodland survey has been completed.
