Information & Education Programmes offer non-formal educational programmes to schools, groups and organisations.
Peer Education Programme – Transition students are trained over 5 days around the issues of self-esteem, peer pressure, smoking, alcohol and drugs. They then teach the 1st years in their respective schools over 4 SPHE classes.
Personal Development- primary school – To provide the pupils with information around self-self-esteem, peer pressure, body awareness/changes, reproductive system, health & hygiene, emotions & feelings, nutrition & exercise and personal safety. A variety of training methods are used to facilitate this training
Sexual Health- secondary school – to educate young people around the issues of sexual health and to develop a positive and responsible attitude to their own and others sexuality. This programme looks at and discusses varies aspects around the following :friendships, influences, values, self-esteem, decision making, relationships, rights & responsibilities, reproduction, contraception, STI’s and support services.
Anti-Bullying Programme- To learn about the different types of bullying and to prevent it by empowering young people with skills and attitudes to deal with potential bullying situations as or when they occur.
Mentoring Training- To assist and support senior students with training and skills to help them guide and work with the incoming first year students.
Community Addiction Studies Course- A20 week QQI level 5 accredited course to enable people living, working or volunteering in the community to become more effective when they encounter drug/alcohol misuse or addiction.
